The Small Holding
Restaurant and farm in an old inn at Kilndown near Cranbrook: lunch, dinner, real ales and wine.
Historic village green at the old centre of Hawkhurst, ringed by St Laurence church, the Eight Bells pub and old village buildings. Registered Village Green.
The Moor is the village green at the centre of the original village of Hawkhurst, with St Laurence church, the Eight Bells pub and the parish council office around it. It was once common land: a 1311 deed from Edward II allowed an annual fair that ran until the 19th century. Hawkhurst Parish Council says the Planning Inspector has re-registered the Moor as a Village Green, so it can no longer be used for events that conflict with the Village Green legislation. The King George V playing field is on The Moor.
