Whitstable Castle and Gardens

Family Friendly

Seaside Georgian castle in landscaped gardens above Tankerton, with a pirate-ship playground, tearooms and a year-round events programme.

About Whitstable Castle and Gardens

The castle is a Georgian and Victorian house that began as a Gothic tower built around 1790, and it is now run as a community venue with gardens, an adventure playground with a pirate ship, tearooms and events. The castle’s own pages do not describe tours; ask at reception about them. The car park uses number plate recognition: the castle’s contact page says to register within 20 minutes of arrival, at reception or the Orangery, and lists free parking for up to three hours.

Accessibility

Wheelchair-accessible entrances and paths, accessible toilets and Blue Badge parking near the entrance. Garden seating throughout.
