Pegwell

Pegwell sits on Pegwell Bay, part of the Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve. A replica Viking ship, Hugin, stands on the clifftop above the bay, and Thanet District Council says it sailed from Denmark to Thanet in 1949 to mark the 1,500th anniversary of the invasion of Britain. The council also says the concrete at the foot of the cliffs was the Hoverlloyd hoverport, whose buildings were demolished.
