Finglesham

village · Dover

Finglesham is a village in the Dover district, in the civil parish of Northbourne. An Anglo-Saxon cemetery here, in use mainly in the 6th and 7th centuries, produced a belt buckle whose design has been linked to the god Woden. Sonia Chadwick Hawkes excavated the site, and the full results were published in 2006.
