Aylesford
Aylesford is a village and civil parish on the River Medway. The Friars, a Carmelite priory founded in the 13th century, is a place of prayer and pilgrimage. The Carmelites left at the Dissolution of the Monasteries and bought their former home back in 1949. Kit’s Coty House, a Neolithic burial chamber managed by English Heritage, stands near the village.
