About Kingsgate Bay
A sandy bay about 150 metres wide with sea caves, reached by steep steps, with Kingsgate Castle (built in 1763, now private homes) on the clifftop. Thanet District Council says the beach is dog-friendly all year, has no lifeguards or public toilets, and gets cut off by the sea at both ends. Joss Bay and Botany Bay, about a 15 minute walk away, have lifeguard cover and toilets.
