About Castle Green (Queenborough Castle site)

Queenborough Castle was started in 1361 and built up to 1369, with the outer gates finished between 1373 and 1375. It was declared obsolete in 1650 and demolished soon after. The site is a scheduled monument and is now public open space; a low earthwork mound and the line of the moat survive.
