Walmer
Walmer is a coastal town and civil parish in the Dover district, next to Deal, made up of Upper Walmer and Lower Walmer. Walmer Castle, built in 1539 to 1540 as one of Henry VIII’s coastal artillery forts, is a scheduled monument and is run by English Heritage. Since the 18th century it has been the official residence of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports.
