Monkton

Monkton is a village and civil parish on the south-western edge of the Isle of Thanet, and it appears in the Domesday survey of 1086. Its church, St Mary Magdalene, is one of the seven ancient churches that remain in Thanet. Monkton Nature Reserve, a 16-acre former chalk quarry run by the Thanet Countryside Trust, lies on the north side of the village.
